I actually miss 80s and 90s music as well. Of course, they don't make music like they did in the 50's/60s/70s, too, but I grew up listening to 80s and 90s music. They DEFINITELY don't make music like that anymore. And when I saw your title, I automatically thought of this song, so thank you for the earworm. LOL

I miss it too! I grew up on VH1 and MTV music videos in the 80s and 90s. I know I sound so old when I say it but it's true, they don't make music like that anymore. I'm glad the title gave you a good earworm too. I've actually started singing it to myself when I'm having a tough day and it makes me feel better!

VH1!! I used to watch that channel a lot, too, just like MTV. Before they became nothing but reality TV shows.

So sorry it’s been a rough week - but congrats on not just getting back up again… also deciding what the next step in your substack journey is! Thanks as well for that article on EDS - I’ve got it and it can be incredibly difficult dealing with the healthcare system. Very fortunate to finally have a team who understand it.

Thank you so much. I'm so glad you were able to find a team who understands what you're dealing with too. Seems like it's way too hard to do that these days.

It took so many years - and countless injuries and setbacks. I often wonder if my health would be better had it happened sooner but I’m also grateful it happened at all. I suspect many people go their whole lives never finding a team to figure out their conditions & validate their experiences.

Oh no! Sorry about the fall and so glad you (and the glasses) are ok! I loved the inclusion of Anne Helene Peterson's essay--I'd missed. And I saw a TON of toxic helpfulness in my own family this week--I swear I'm going to hang a sign in the kitchen!

Thank you! I don't think I give my knees enough credit cause they've sure been banged up a lot and they're still going. It's funny, when I wrote the toxic helpfulness thing I was writing it because I had done it myself but then when I went and read back what I wrote, I thought "well, crap, people do that with me too!" I love the idea of hanging a sign in your kitchen ❤️

Eek sorry about the fall! I remember those days well. Glad to hear your glasses made it. Your list of advice was also spot on.
